It’s summertime and refreshing drinks are a necessity to cool off. We do so many different things in the summer months, so I’ve been getting some creative ideas around drinks lately, so I wanted to share them with you all. So on one of my Walmart trips earlier this week, I picked up some fruit beverages, fresh Kiwi fruit, plastic cups and straws. I found these 96oz Ready-To-Drink Kool-Aid bottles in the juice box/bottled juice aisle and thought they sure were convenient.
Since we live on a lake and spend a lot of time around the water fishing, swimming and boating, I thought it would be really make sense to take a cooler, some ice and a bottle of fruit juice with us, instead of either grabbing a can or bottle of something for each of us, running back to the house every time we needed a drink, or simply waiting until we were finished having fun, to cool off with a nice cold drink. I even sliced up some fresh Kiwi for us to enjoy with our drinks – how cute!
My father in law does a lot of fishing off our pier, so I took a cooler down there, sat with him, sipped some juice and enjoyed basking in the beauty of our lake. It was so relaxing for me and he sure enjoyed a refreshing drink!
But before all that, I thought some frozen treats would be amazing! So I busted out our little plastic ice pop molds, sliced up a Kiwi and grabbed some Kool-Aid.
My molds were a bit smaller than I originally thought, so I sliced the Kiwi again and set the ice pop mold on its side, then slid a couple of chunks of Kiwi into each one.
Next, I poured in some Tropical Punch Kool-Aid {my personal favorite}, put the tops on and set them in the freezer for a few hours to form. When they were set, I took them out, inspected them and thought they looked so delicious. Then of course I had to try one and I have to say, they were pretty darn delicious!
Jim Dillard, pro fisherman, could be coming to your local Walmart to help promote the new 96oz Kool-Aid bottles! There will be product giveaways, t-shirts, games, and more fun activities!
