When I was younger, I had some friends that were from Puerto Rico. Their mom used to babysit for my sister while my parents would work and I’d pick her up on my way home from school. I’d stay and chat with the family and hear so many wonderful stories about their home. It always fascinated me and I’d planned to take a trip there one day.
Sadly, my husband and I have never really had the chance to travel much, so I’ve never made it to Puerto Rico yet. But things are starting to look up and I can almost safely say that we’re just about where we’d like to be. We’ve been talking about vacations, a sort of second honeymoon for us both, since the kids went with on the first.
Today, we dream of going to Puerto Rico and checking out El Yunque, the only rainforest under US national park service. There you’ll find trails to hike, a beautiful waterfall and the joys of nature all around you. Tell me you’ve never dreamed of kissing under a waterfall!
Puerto Rico is so much more than just rain forests though. You can visit San Juan and enjoy the old world charm, experience 270 miles of coastline and visit one of the top 10 beaches from Travel Channel, play Golf at one of the amazing courses and of course there’s food. You can try the Puerto Rican delicacies and their famous rums. The best part is, you don’t even need a passport and won’t have to convert your money to foreign types!
