Life can definitely give us lemons at times. But instead of being unhappy and dwelling on the bad, I say you should just make some lemonade instead – so to speak. That’s what The Happiest Daughter and her family did. They’re Celebrating Good, instead of dwelling on the not so pleasant aspects of their life together.
It sort of reminds me of my family. We’ve been through the ringer and have faced many hardships – but each time, we’ve come out stronger. We’ve had to blend our family to include my teenage siblings. My children have had to learn how to share their parents. At one point, we had seven people and three dogs living in a tiny two bedroom flat while we looked for a bigger house to fit our larger family. Once we finally found a house, we had to wait a month to find out if we got it. After the good news, we spent a month remodeling to make the house liveable before we could even move in!
I’ll tell you something though. Those were some of the most memorable months of our lives. We had some great times in there and we grew as a family, together. We all learned a little about love and compassion and these are life lessons that are instilled in my children and my siblings today – three years later. Because of the things we went through, their hearts became bigger and they don’t think twice about helping others. It’s now in their nature and I honestly think that’s one of the most important things a child could learn. This situation has made us all appreciate life a little bit more and to do what we can to make it better for others as well.
