I have been infatuated with these tulle ribbon wreaths for as long as I can remember, but I have never bought one. My grandmother purchased a roll of Burton & Burton tulle ribbon, but was unable to get the effect she wanted in a wreath. I told her I would take it home and experiment. I was quite surprised how easy it was to make. Really it only took me about 30 minutes with several distractions.
Tulle Ribbon Wreath
Materials:
- Wire wreath
- Roll of Burton & Burton Tulle Ribbon (18 inches wide)
- Floral wire (cut in strips of 6 inches)
STEP 1: I took the easiest approach I could think of. I gathered the end of the tulle ribbon together and secured it with floral wire to the two middle rows of the wire wreath. Then I gathered the tulle ribbon again (leaving a generous loop) and secured it with wire. I didn’t leave a lot of space between the secured wire areas maybe an inch.
STEP 2: I continued to gather and loop. If the looped tulle ribbon became too loose (I slid it closer to the last secured area) I secured it to the floral wire used for the previous enclosure.
STEP 3: I just continued the first two steps until I was happy with the spacing. Last I pulled the ends of the ribbon out to fluff it even more.
