February is National Children’s Dental
Health Month and there is no better time to make sure you are doing
everything you can for the care and health of your children’s teeth.
I come from a long line of horrible genetics for teeth so I have had my children at the dentist since they were 12 months old. Of course the most important part is the daily brushing. Lots of kids just hate it. I am thankful that mine don’t mind it (probably because I have been brushing their teeth since they were 6 months old and they just don’t know any different).
One way to get kids interested in brushing their teeth is to give them a fun toothbrush. Firefly does just that with their fun brushes that also include a brushing timer right on the brush. Green, Yellow and Red just like a stoplight.
FireFly Ready Go Brush
* The new FireFly? Ready Go Brush? features the colors and mimics the cycle of a traditional traffic light to let kids know how long they need to brush each row of teeth to be effective against cavities
* Times kids to make sure they brush the dentist-recommended 60 seconds per row of teeth o For the first 30 seconds, the light flashes green for ?go.? Then, the light changes to yellow to signal that brushing is halfway over. When the red light comes on, the user can stop brushing. The cycle is then repeated for the second row of teeth
* When finished, simply hold the toothbrush upright and press
onto the surface where you wish to store it. The suction cup at the bottom of the toothbrush will hold it firmly upright like a traffic light, keeping the bristles clean, dry and out of contact with moisture and germs on the sink.* Hurried, insufficient brushing is one of the major causes of early childhood cavities; the FireFly Ready Go Toothbrush encourages compliance in young children and helps develop good oral care habits for a lifetime
* Choice of four top entertainment characters ? Barbie, Spider Man, Angry Birds, or FireFly.
* For ages 3 ? 12; www.FireflyFunBrushing.com
* Soft, high quality DuPont Tynex bristles are gentle on children’s delicate gums
* American Dental Association (ADA) Accepted
At 5 Big Sis is easily able to start the toothbrush light on by herself. Our routine is for me or my husband to brush her teeth the first 30 seconds for each row and then let her do the 2nd set of 30 seconds for the second row of teeth. I just want to make sure they are good and clean. She is actually really great at brushing her teeth I just want to make sure nothing is missed.
I am also a HUGE fan of the suction cup at the bottom of the toothbrush. It just seems to make the bathroom seem cleaner when they are neatly up and down on the counter instead of laying at the counter or in a cup.
I am happy to be getting her into good teeth brushing habits early in life since this is a super important to her oral hygiene health. Fun characters and colors on a toothbrush can make brushing teeth for a kid less like a chore. These fun toothbrushes are the perfect toothbrush for kids.
