Valentine’s is right around the corner and while you are out shopping today make sure you don’t forget the one important item on the list, chocolate. Chocolates have been given as gifts since the 19th century (though they had been around much longer) and because it contains an endorphin similar to one produced by our brains that is linked to love, it is the perfect Valentine’s gift!
You don’t want just any ole chocolate though; bad chocolate doesn’t exactly bring about fond Valentine’s memories. Since I’ve been swept away with Lindt chocolate over the last week, I can attest that these are the perfect chocolates for your Valentine.
I found it interesting that Rodolphe Lindt, one of the most famous chocolate makers in the 1800s, and his ‘melting chocolates’, contributed to the popularity and fame of Swiss Chocolates around the world. It wasn’t until the mid 1900s that they created the Lindor masterpiece (which I am now addicted to), but it is really fascinating to read how important they were to the history of decadent chocolates.
Presently they have new items out on the shelves for Valentine’s Day that include some of their best recipes.
- LINDOR Elegance Heart (10.6 oz.): This beautiful heart is filled with delicious LINDOR Milk Chocolate truffles sure to melt the heart of your Valentine.

- Classic Romance Heart (9.8 oz.): This romantic heart is filled with delectable classic assorted praline chocolates and is the perfect gift for your Valentine.
The LINDOR Elegance Heart is my personal choice. These small bits of heaven have a milk chocolate shell that when opened holds the smoothest, most creamy milk chocolate I have ever tasted. It is honestly like silk. If any chocolate could define perfection it would be LINDOR.
As for Teens, the HELLO Mini Sticks are the cutest bits around. Each one says “Hello” in sweet fonts and has an assortment of delicious flavors. It’s the perfect little Valentine for Tweens and Teens, whether you are giving them one or they are gifting to their own sweethearts.
Needless to say, the Hello Mini Sticks didn’t last very long at the house and my teen loved them so much he wanted to get a bag for his very first Valentine!
You can find Lindt chocolates everywhere, so you won’t have a problem picking up the best chocolates before the big day. Just make sure if you are looking for one of the new items that they aren’t exclusive to Target, otherwise you can find that lovely heart of LINDOR truffles at Walgreens (where I happened to sneak off and get another one for myself).
