~I received a copy of Here Come the Octonauts for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
If you haven’t had the chance to get to know the Octonauts, let me fill you in! This is a great animated T.V. series based on the American-Canadian books (of the same name) by Vicki Wong and Michael C. Murphy. The stories are a bit science-fiction meets adorable exotic animals. The Octonauts are an underwater exploration team of 8 adventurers:
- Captain Barnacles – The Polar Bear
- Lieutenant Kwazii – Cat
- Medic Peso – Penguin
- Oceanographer Professor Inkling – Octopus
- Marine Biologist Dr. Shellington – Sea Otter
- Engineer Tweak – Rabbit
- IT Officer Dashi – Dog
- Cook Tunip – Vegimal (half animal / half vegetable)
These episodes include:
- Sea Snakes: The team has to race to find all the sea snakes before they (and the Octopod) get sucked into a whirlpool!
- Walrus Chief: A Walrus accidentally steals Peso’s medic bag and they have to sneak into the Walrus community to get it back.
- Adelie Penguins: Kwazii and Peso have to babysit baby penguins, what could go wrong?
- Electric Torpedo Ray: Kwazii has a shocking encounter with an Electric Torpedo Ray when the Ocopod ends up with no electricity.
- Colossal Squid: The Octopod gets dragged down into the depths of the ocean by a Colossal Squid!
- Crab & Urchin: It’s bedtime, but a Crab & a Sea Urchin keep everyone up. Everyone learns about why it’s important that they’re together.
