Leaving your baby alone in the nursery can be difficult and most parents want to monitor every sound their baby makes. That’s why Graco is here to help. I just received their Sound Select LX Audio Baby Monitor to review. The monitor comes with two parent units that include belt clips so you can wear it. Sound Select LX Audio Baby Monitor features a Static Filter Technology, which eliminates all background noise: turn it on and just hear baby, turn it off and hear every noise in baby’s nursery. This baby monitor also has a patented vibration to feel baby’s call when worn. It offers a 600 foot range for household coverage. The monitor also has six sound lights that change color as sound intensifies: green, yellow, and red. It even includes a soft nightlight which makes it easy to check in on baby without disturbing.
Like most parents, I have to test out new technology. I first tried Sound Select LX Audio Baby Monitor while my son was taking a nap. While he slept in his crib, I turned on the Static Filter so I could only hear him.
My old monitor always had static, and also picked up other interferences. Often it would pick up conversations, and I would panic that someone was in the nursery with my baby.
The Sound Select LX Audio Baby Monitor was so quiet I was unsure if it was working correctly. Periodically, I checked in on my son to ensure he was still asleep, and the monitor was working. Sometime later we heard his cry over the monitor, and were assured the monitor was working correctly.
Since our test trial we have been using it on a regular basis at nap time. My son is only four months old and is still in a bassinet by our bed at night.
