I’m a mom and a blogger – that just so happens to share a lot of recipes. Well we all know that pretty dishes are a must and I have to say I’ve become a bit obsessed. My Christmas list seriously has nothing but dishes in different designs, cookware, tableware and serving dishes. You’d think I was becoming Martha Stewart or something.
So anyway, before I go way off the deep end, start talking in a southern accent and saying “ya’ll” all the time, I’ll get to the point. I saw the Kohl’s Holiday 2013 press kit and was in awe of so many of the great gift ideas that they have available. But what really struck me and stuck out of course were the dishes. Yep, no joke – laugh all you want!
Once I saw these lovely stoneware ramekins and lasagna pan from the Bobby Flay collection, I just knew they had to be mine. I envisioned all of the wonderful dishes I would make using them. Of course, my family loved the fact that I had an excuse to make lasagna since it’s everyone’s favorite!
The Bobby Flay Stoneware Lasagna Pan is like no other I’ve used. First of all, it’s deep – really deep. I can load that baby up with all the fixings and not have to worry about anything seeping over the sides. Everything fits just right and I love that it can go right from the oven to the table and then on to the dishwasher. It’s even microwave safe too and it’s available in 5 different colors!
I love tiny little ramekin baking dishes too and was so excited to see two different styles available at Kohl’s. They have the little rectangular ones and the round ones. The colors coordinate beautifully too!
The first time I used the Bobby Flay set of 4 ramekins was to make Twice Baked Potato Casserole for an early Thanksgiving dinner. It turned out wonderful!
Then I used them to serve/photograph chili in over the weekend. This photo turned out much better because I finally got smart and bought an umbrella light for taking photos. The lighting in my house is terrible, especially the kitchen counter area!
I absolutely adore my new Bobby Flay bakeware. You will be seeing much more of it too because I can see these dishes being the highlight of many recipes to come! I will be cooking up a storm for the entire month of December and these will make all of my holiday cooking so much easier!
