The World of Katie Woo w/ Free Online Book Club!

I am the mom to a 5 year old girl and she loves books almost as much as I do. I am a librarian but so far I have only worked with college students so I will use that as my excuse for not knowing about the world of Katie Woo until recently. The Katie Woo early chapter books each feature four stories and colorful illustrations and are about things any little girl would face on a day to day basis. The fun stories focus on Katie in school and the situations and experiences that life as a first grader brings.

The world of Katie Woo website is packed with videos, downloadable activity pages, recipes, and more! I enjoyed browsing their site and there are so many cute things I can do with my daughter. I am not one to come up with my own cute ideas so I appreciate a good website.

Katie Woo’s Super Stylish Activity Book features over 55 activities, from coloring projects to matching games to word searches and more! My daughter is really into activity books and this one is no exception. She is just now grasping how to do the different activities and I love to see her thinking while playing with it.

The Katie Woo Bookclub is a free online book club where girls can read a new Katie Woo book each month and download fun activities and information about that month’s book selection. Upon registering, girls will also receive a “Hosting Your Book Club” Activity Kit and a free book. 

Apparently Katie Woo loves a party and so does my daughter so the new app is perfect for her itouch! The Katie Woo Party Planning App is a how-to for planning the best party
ever, including picking a party place, creating an invite, decorating a
cake, dressing up for the party, and playing a party game, all while
unlocking tons of fun content.

The Katie Woo books are just perfect for girls in those early years of school. There is just something magical about my daughter enjoying books and Katie Woo is now one of her “absolute favorites” according to her. I like that the words on the page are large enough that she can easily read them and I love that these are the perfect way to introduce chapter books to new readers if they want to move on past picture books.

I fully expect my daughter and Katie Woo to go on many adventures together through this book series. Teaching a child to love reading at an early age really does give them something that they can treasure forever.
