Water is essential to our health and the overall well-being of our bodies. Sadly, many people either don’t realize this or simply don’t care. That’s why First Lady Michelle Obama and Actress Eva Longoria have teamed up with Partnership for a Healthier America [PHA]. They’ve announced an initiative to encourage people to drink more water and make a choice to improve their health and well-being.
More than one dozen public and private sector partners have joined their efforts and in the next year, will carry the Drink Up logo across bottled water and its packaging. More than 10,000 outdoor water drinking fountains will carry the logo too!
PHA wants you to drink up and join their virtual “Cheers!” to water and visit YouAreWhatYouDrink.org. You can also tag photos on Instagram with the #DrinkH2O hashtag. You’d be surprised at the number of brands that are big supporters of this initiative. Some of those include, but are not limited to BRITA, Aquafina, Dasani and Nestle.
I am definitely one of those people who needs to “practice what they preach” because I definitely don’t drink as much water as I should. You see, I love caffeine. However, I’m not an every day coffee drinker, so I drink soda instead. Pepsi is my drink of choice. I really do need to get more water into my diet though because drinking only water is part of what helped me lose all that weight two years ago – some of which has come back thanks in part to my soda addiction. So my goal is to replace at least 2 cans of soda with two bottles of water instead!
So what are you waiting for? Join the movement and Drink Up to better health and to a better you!
