When I was little I love love loved The Little Mermaid. I must of watched my VHS copy hundreds of times. I know all the songs by heart and I could probably repeat most of the dialogue as well! I am super excited that it is now coming out on Blu-ray and digital on October 1, 2013 because now I can share my love of the movie with my two daughters that I just know will love it as much as I do! They are girly girls for sure and we are all about everything Disney Princess in this house!
You must be living in the ocean if you don’t know what this movie is about. Ariel, the mermaid, longs for a life as a human and goes so far as collecting human artifacts with her best friend, Flounder, from the sea floor. One stormy night she heads to the surface of the ocean, against her Father Triton’s rules against it, to watch fireworks from a ship. The ship goes down and Ariel finds herself rescuing a handsome man from drowning. She brings him to shore and sings to him but as he wakes up she heads back to the sea. She is so desperate to be a human she makes a bargain with the evil villain Ursula who turns her into a human. She soon finds she may have taken on more than she can handle and now she must find a way to save the humans and her father’s kingdom!

Even my mom loves this movie and she admits to crying at the end the very first time she watched it. I think this movie is so amazing I would have gladly bought myself a copy if I had not received one for this post. This movie is not to be missed and should definitely be included in every little kid’s Disney move collection!
