Our big weekend plan was to watch the Packers v. Bengals game since we’re kind of just stuck at home right now. I thought it would be fun to do a whole tailgate spread with our favorite Shredded Beef Recipe, so I checked my local Pick ‘n Save circular for this weeks sale items. #MyPicknSave has rebranded some of their Wisconsin grocery stores and they have a “new every day” philosophy to include the best selection and quality of their fresh ingredients. I can certainly attest since it’s usually the store I shop for meat and produce!
After making my list, I found that many of the things I needed for our tailgate were either on sale, had a coupon or were on price lock. Unlike other stores in our area, Pick ‘n ‘Save offers more than just their regular store sales. They’ve put a price lock on certain items like bacon, pasta, bread and frozen pizzas. That means that those items are always at a special low price for 77 days straight. That number 77 is reflected in their prices, each ending at 77 cents. Pick ‘n Save also has a “Coupon Craze” page in their circular where you can save even more with an entire page chocked full of coupons!
Having a large family, I try to save money wherever I can. However, I’m not one to clip coupons from the newspaper, so I really appreciate these extra ways to save at a store I shop regularly. Those savings entice me to shop for more than just my fresh foods like produce and meat. I appreciate how they make saving simple for busy moms like me!
After I did my tailgate shopping at Pick ‘n Save, it was time to get my game on {pun totally intended} and make a delicious feast fit for a tailgate party. I even unburied our tailgate table from the back of the garage, thinking it would be perfect to use. Since the Packers colors are green and gold, I grabbed some gold plates to serve the food on. I think it turned out great!
We had a complete spread perfect for any football fan. Mozzarella Sticks, Tortilla Strips with Salsa, Meatball Jalapeno Poppers and our famous Shredded Beef Sandwiches completed our tailgate spread.
The food was a hit with everyone. Lil Man and The Man even got decked out in true Packers fashion with their Packers shirts. It was certainly a fun event for all – even though the Packers lost 30-34! At least it was a relatively close game!
I’ve shared my Shredded Beef Recipe with you below. It’s definitely worth a try and my personal favorite of any shredded beef I’ve eaten!
