I was first introduced to Robeez in 2010. My now 3 and 1/2 year old received a pair as a baby gift and I instantly fell in love. Robeez are available in two styles, the soft soles and the mini shoez. The Robeez soft soles are perfect for cruisers, crawlers and early walkers. In fact my 14 month old that has been walking since 10 months still wears his soft soles often. I love everything about this shoe. They are available in super cute designs, are really soft and hug my LO’s feet so it is almost like he is walking barefoot when he is wearing them.
For this review I received a pair of Mini Shoez from Robeez New Fall Collection. I got a pair of mini shoez in the style called Camden in size 12-18 months, which is a toddler size 5. The mini shoez are available available in 5 sizes, US 2 Age 3-6m, US 3 Age 6-9m, US 4 Age 9-12m, US 5 Age 12-18m, and US 6 Age 18-24m. The mini shoez share the great flexibility that the soft soles have, but feature a skid-resistant sole. The non-slip sole is perfect for indoor or outdoor wear. To me the mini shoez are the perfect transition from Robeez soft soles. I have always let me LO wear his soft soles outside, but the skid-resistant sole on the mini shoez is much more durable.
The Mini Shoez are available in quite a few different styles for both boys and girls. The designs of the mini shoez take fashion cues from styles that Mom or Dad might wear. Mini shoez are designed to flex and bend with each step and promote good balance and unrestricted growth.
For my 14 month old DS the mini shoez are the perfect transition from his Robeez soft soles. I love the skid-resistant sole and I feel much better about him walking around in them outside, especially in the unpredictable Central NY Fall weather. The size 5 is a little big on him right now, but I figured better big than too small right? For reference he was wearing a Robeez soft sole in the 6-12 months size and they fit him about perfect, but he wears them without socks. My husband actually put him in the soft soles for church this morning and with socks on they were a bit tight.
I love that the Mini Shoez are made from the same super soft and flexible leather as the soft soles. For me the big difference between Robeez soft soles and mini shoez is the sole. Also on the mini shoez there is a velcro closure across the top, well at least on the Camden style that we received. The soft soles do not a have a velcro on them, they just slide on and off.
