Since our company started Diono has worked to solve the real everyday worries and hassles parents face. Our first product idea was born from a family discussion on a documentary demonstrating the consequences of improperly secured car seats in collisions. Within the year family members had created a prototype that would come to be known as Mighty-Tite? ? the world’s first and only seatbelt tightener designed for ease of use and peace of mind.
When it comes to children, safety is always key. My little guy isn’t so little anymore (I can’t believe almost four years have gone by!) and he’s outgrowing everything like a weed. We had purchased a two in one seat but with his grandfather babysitting a lot of weekends, we were in the market for an additional booster seat. As luck may have it, I didn’t have to pull out my hair researching an additional seat as Diono offered us a Monterey Booster Seat (formerly known as their Sunshine Kids) to review.

Sonshine also has told me, it’s a lot more comfortable than his other booster seat. His view is not obstructed by the head impact cushions, but I feel safe having those on either side of his head. If and when he’s ready for it, the back of the Monterey Booster comes off, making it a backless booster. I was impressed at how quickly my husband got it into our car, we always use the LATCH System even when’s it’s optional and he had the seat in within a few moments. We have a two door hatchback. If it fits comfortably into our car and Sonshine can pull out his cup holder that is right next to the window side of the car, then this will fit into anybody’s car!
