For this weeks recipes I have partnered with Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads and am introducing the Italian Thin Pizza Crust and the incredibly delicious Original Naan Flatbread. I hope you enjoy!
Pizza is one of the top comfort foods for families, so it surprises me sometimes when people don’t opt to make pizza at home; especially when they can make it healthier with fresh ingredients. Families can also turn it into an entertaining movie and pizza night by allowing kids to create their own pizzas! It’s a lot easier with a little help too and that is why I’m happy to introduce your family to Stonefire Italian Artisan Pizza Crusts. We got to try the Italian Thin Pizza Crust because we prefer thin style, but it also comes in regular and multi-grain.
Stonefire Italian Artisan Pizza Crusts are hand stretched using traditional ingredients with no preservatives as well as baked at high heat in a stone oven to give it the authentic taste of an Italian pizza. It also comes with a Tomato Basil sauce that is incredibly good and compliments the pizza flatbread very well.
Making a pizza with Stonefire is simple. You spread the sauce on the pizza, you add your favorite toppings and you cook it in the oven following the directions on the package. My tot really just wanted a pepperoni and cheese, but you can try some great Stonefire recipes, such as:
- Pepperoni Pepper & Provolone (that’s a St. Louis cheese there!)
- Roasted Chicken & Pesto
- Italian Sausage & Roasted Red Pepper
- Salami & Buffalo Mozzarella
Stonefire Naan are baked just as they have always been baked for hundreds of years, at extremely high heat in a tandoor oven, which gives it the smoky delicious flavor of Indian Naan. They’re hand stretched, made with natural ingredients including traditional fresh buttermilk and ghee (clarified butter). Whether you realize or not, Naan can been used to make a number of things – including pizza! It is extremely versatile. I personally just love it the way that it is, generally with rich and spicy Indian food, but since my tot cannot have fiery dishes I settled for a comfort food.
Lemon Chicken
Ingredients:
- 2 Chicken Breasts (or equivalent in Chicken Breast Strips)
- 2 Tbsp of Butter ( or Grape Seed Oil)
- 2 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp of Salt
- 1/2 tsp of Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp of Garlic Powder
- Pinch of Paprika
- 1 Gallon Ziplock Bag
Steps:
- Place chicken in the ziplock bag and add in the lemon juice, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder and coat the chicken well.
- Heat the 2 tbsp of Grape Seed Oil in a skillet and then add the chicken. Cook the chicken breasts until they read 170′ or are cooked through and golden brown on top.
- Viola!
I always pair Lemon Chicken with rice. In this case I paired it with our favorite, yellow Saffron rice! I warmed up the Stonefire Naan in the oven as per the directions and then coated it lightly with butter. Here is a few other ideas you can have fun with using the lemon chicken!
- Slice the lemon chicken breasts into strips. Add a bed of rice to the Naan and top it with fresh lettuce and small diced tomatoes. Place the sliced lemon chicken on top and roll.
- Add the bed of rice to the Naan, the chicken strips and feta cheese. Fold together and warm for another 5 minutes.
Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads also offer Pita and Roti breads and have an amazing list of recipes, including videos! The taste is what honestly makes these breads my ‘must have’ home item. Plus, you can find them at Walmart, which is usually on most of our grocery places to go. Next time you are in, take one home and have fun creating something with your family!
