“Hope Conquers All: Inspiring Stories of Love and Healing from CaringBridgeIn 1997, Sona Mehring created the first CaringBridge website when a close friend endured a life-threatening pregnancy. CaringBridge is now used by over 500,000 people a day, with 44 million unique visitors over the past year. Through CaringBridge, Mehring has witnessed thousands of stories of hope and connection among people struggling with stroke, cancer, and other life-changing conditions. HOPE CONQUERS ALL shares some of its most touching stories.
HOPE CONQUERS ALL contains stories from people of all ages and backgrounds. The adversities they face vary greatly, from children with cancer, to adults requiring life-saving transplants, to victims of horrific accidents, but their stories are unified-hope does conquer all.
And CaringBridge is a place where hope grows. It’s a site that helps people reach out and stay in touch through moments of great need. It inspires them and instills hope; it helps foster and encourage much-needed emotional connection. These intimate personal stories, which reveal the underlying spiritual presence that connects us all, will encourage people to create channels of love and support in their own lives.”
Sometimes, we just need a little hope in our lives. Life often has that snowball effect where one bad thing will lead to another and you’re left with nothing but feelings of hopelessness. I’ve felt it too many times to count in my life and I’m sure you can relate in at least one point in your life. That’s when you need someone to turn to – be it a friend, a stranger or just someone to lend an ear.
CaringBridge offers all of that through their website. Going to their site for the first time, I really wasn’t sure what I would say without actually trying out the site myself. But as soon as I clicked that link, familiarity hit. I’d been there before, actually quite recently!
You see, my SIL just gave birth to quadruplets a few weeks ago. They were so tiny, right around 2 pounds each, so they have been in incubators, on respirators and pretty much in isolation. They can’t have any visitors, though each set of grandparents has been able to visit now – thankfully. The rest of us get updates and photos here and there through CaringBridge – believe it or not!
The site is actually quite wonderful. They have their own page where they keep us updated as much as they can. It’s really actually prety wonderful, because we’re not able to talk with them often since their hands are usually pretty busy at the hospital with the boys and at work.
CaringBridge has been such a great resource for them as well as for us – their family and friends. We don’t have to pester them for updates, because they can share it all with us, right on the CaringBridge website!
