Tribe first introduced hummus to the United States in 1993 in Boston. The original Tribe hummus flavor, Classic, became a favorite in America in only four months, and shortly thereafter Tribe’s many hummus flavors became a staple among American households. We produce Tribe in Taunton, Massachusetts, about 40 miles south of Boston. Our plant produces the most delicious, freshest-tasting hummus on the market, and we distribute our three hummus lines nationwide.
Keeping our hummus “all natural” requires a continued commitment to simplicity. We?re dedicated to producing a hummus that not only satisfies the palate, but nourishes the soul. Tribe hummus is made with all natural ingredients and is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, hydrogenated oils, and high-fructose corn syrup.
Hummus is one of my most favorite foods. It just goes perfect with everything. In fact, the other day, I had an amazing hummus pita wrap, my choice even with some great meat options at the restaurant and I was not disappointed! I was a vegetarian for many years and it took awhile, but I found my favorite brand of hummus and they just keep rolling out the most delicious flavors.
Tribe Hummus has a wide variety of hummus flavors, ranging from good old Original all the way to Forty Spices. My husband’s eyes lit up when I told him we would be trying out the Forty Spices. Anything spicy is right up his alley. I, on the other hand, am not a big spicy/heat fan. The Mediterranean has been my favorite flavor for awhile now, but, like I tell my preschooler, you’ll never know if you like something until you try it!
First of all, this Forty Spices smells mouthwatering and scrumptious. A little bit of heat greets you, but all the different spices just mingle in aromatic pleasure. Anything that smells this good has to taste great.
I thought Forty Spices was a bit creamy than the other flavors that have a drizzle of olive oil on top. It holds up well to veggies, we dove in with carrots, broccoli, celery, and red pepper slices, and spreads great on pita bread. The taste, was, just, wow. Whatever the forty spices are, they all blend and compliment each other, while offering just the right amount of heat. If I could make it through a few bites without a sip of anything, then the spice is perfect! My husband wished it had a bit more heat, but that didn’t stop him from polishing off over half a container in one sitting! I couldn’t convince the kid to try it, but if you’re looking for a simple way to kick up snack time or meal time, then pick up a container or two of Tribe Hummus Forty Spices and add some heat to your daily routine.
