In the summer of 2010, first-time mom Kimberly Goodwin was ready for a
day at the beach in Nantucket with her three-month-old daughter, Reese.
Having packed everything but the crib, Goodwin was prepared for
anything?until the baby needed changing. Only an hour into the day,
Goodwin struggled to pull off Reese’s wet suit, change her diaper and
put the suit back on, all while the infant wailed. She thought, there
has to be an easier way. Why don?t they make bathing suits with snaps?
An idea turned into a mission and Snapping Turtle Kids was born.
Since we live in Florida and pretty much live in the water year round every member of the family has at least 4 swimsuits and this includes my girls too! One thing I have learned for both adults and kids is that not all swimsuits are created equal. Lil Sis is now 20 months old and I have finally got to review a swimsuit that has snaps in the crotch for easy swimsuit changes. Why this feature is not on all little girl swimsuits is beyond me!
This Palm Beach Seersucker Swimsuit is super cute!!
What makes this swim so much better than the rest out there is the fact that it has snaps at the bottom of the suit for easy diaper changing. Not only that but it has 2 rows so that the suit can last longer and fit baby longer! Genius!
The awesomeness of this suit does not stop there. The straps are also adjustable in their length so that once again the swimsuit can grow with baby.
Here are some pics of Lil Sis at 20 months old and 22 pounds wearing the swimsuit in size 24 months on the smallest setting.
Poolside
In the pool.
The straps were the tiniest bit big on her but it was not until we were all done in the pool that it dawned on me to cross the straps in the back. Doh…works perfect now and is cute too.
Snapping Turtle Kids swimwear is made in New York City so it is also nice to know you are buying from right here in the US. These swimsuits are a little pricier than many swimsuits you see in your local big box store. Remember these are extremely well made (think designer clothes) and lets you change up the straps and the snaps in the crotch so this suit will last your little girl longer than a regular old suit. These are super cute too! They also have matching tunics for mom and daughter and the boys are not left out as they have cute swimsuits for them too!
