I love Pizza. In fact, it is by far my absolute favorite food. I could probably eat pizza every single day of the week if The Man would let me. I’m not too keen on frozen pizza though and there are only a few brands that I will even eat – others I stay clear away from them.
I prefer my pizza freshly homemade or from a pizzeria. There’s a pizzeria in town that is just absolutely amazing, though I have to say – I make a pretty decent pizza myself! One of these days, I will share that recipe with you too.
For now, I’d like to share my recipe for Homemade French Bread Pizza. You might be surprised at how easy it is to make and how absolutely delicious it turns out. It’s a family favorite in my house and a number of guests have complimented me on it.
Now, I have a large family – there are 7 of us. So you would make this much if you are having guests, want leftovers and/or if your family eats large portions at each sitting.
The great thing about pizza is that you can add the toppings that you like and skip the ones you don’t. You could also have all sorts of toppings on hand and make special pizzas for each person in your family. For example, my sons refuse to eat mushrooms – even though I insist they just enhance the flavor – so I only put sausage and pepperoni on their pizza. My recipe calls for sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. You could add such things as onions, green peppers, ham, bacon bits, hamburger, olives or anchovies. The sky is the limit and I’m sure that you could think of even more things to top your pizza with. In the meantime, try my recipe below and let me know what you think!
