I’m all about stretching my dollars. With a household the size of mine, every single penny counts. Living in a smaller town, we don’t have a lot of stores available. I am thankful that we have a Dollar Store though – Dollar General. You wouldn’t believe the Dollar General Brands?that they offer for a fraction of the cost of your traditional name brand stuff. Their brands are just as good as the expensive stuff and even come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee! That’s pretty awesome! These brands inclue:
- Clover Valley (Food Products)
- Dollar General Health (Health Products)
- Dollar General Body (Personal Care Products)
- Dollar General Home (Cleanign Products)
- Dollar General Baby (Baby Products)
Armed with a $10 gift card, Big Bro and I headed to Dollar General to see how much bang we could get for our buck. We wanted to try to get at least one product from each category to see how far that ten bucks would really stretch.

My SIL just had her babies {Yay!}, so I hit the baby aisle right away to see what I could grab. They had quite the selection to choose from and I found Dollar General Baby Wash for under $2 -Can you imagine how much of that she will go through with 4 babies? I think I’m going back to stock up for her at that price!

I was able to get 6 products in all. Other products that I purchased include Dollar General Men’s Body Wash, Dollar General Satin Delight Body Wash, Dollar General Window Cleaner, Dollar General Ibuprofin and Clover Valley Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The cookies got mowed up right away. With 4 boys in the house and a few of their friends over, that’s normal around here. I was only mad that they devoured them before I could even get some photos. Oh well, I got the ones that matter instead – the true test.

Our patio table sits directly under half of our pine tree out back. It’s wonderful for shade, since we wouldn’t have any elseware, but our table gets filthy – and fast! I can clean the table and a few hours later it will be full of needles a sap again. I know it would make sense to move the table, but it just isn’t feasable.
?
I took the?Dollar General Window Cleaner and some paper towels out back, took a before shot, cleaned the table quickly and took an after shot. Just look at the difference! It worked quite well. The only spots that didn’t come out were the stuck on sap, but I’ve found warm soapy water is the only thing that works for that.

I know a lot of people are skeptical of store brands, but trust me – you don’t have to be! The only difference really is a fancy label and of course the cost. I encourage you to take the Dollar General challenge and see how much you can save!
