Spring is here and for a lot of us that means pools, beaches and sprinklers. Here in Florida swimsuit weather is in full swing. With so many swimsuits out there sometimes it can be hard to pick just one. One Step Ahead has a line of Sun gear for little ones called Sun Smarties that makes finding the right swim gear easy.
I was sent a swim set for Lil Sis to review from One Step Ahead.
I love that the top is a onesie style so no worries on the top riding up to expose the baby belly to the sun. I also like that it has long sleeves for extra protection from the sun. It has UPF 50+ which is a must in the Florida sun. Here is a picture of Lil Sis sporting the set, I am super bias but I think it looks cute on her.
She is 18 months old and around 23 pounds and she is wearing the size 24 month onesie and skirt. The onesie is definitely too big on her. I should have ordered the 18 month size. No one to blame but myself on that one. The skirt was a perfect fit especially since I put a cloth swim diaper on under the onesie. I know the skirt is a swim diaper but I felt weird since the onesie went on underneath it not to have a swim diaper as her base layer. If you use the skirt with one of their matching tops then I would not have used a swim diaper underneath.
When we go to the beach this onesie would be my go to swimming outfit of choice. Sand seems to get everywhere so the onesie would at least help keep the sand out a little more than a top and bottom set. When at the beach the sun really beats down on you so I would also make this my go to beach outfit for her since it has long sleeves and I want all the protection for her skin that I can get to prevent sunburns of any kind.
Check out the boy onesie, I personally think it is cuter than the girl one and I don’t normally say that about boy clothes.

I know it is a little over protecting but anytime we go to water splash zones I always have my kids wear water shoes. It keeps them from slipping while running around. My kids are usually the only ones not slipping and falling and it is because they wear water shoes. I have not tried out these but the look really nice.
I know it has nothing to do with my review but they have these cool looking baby pools and now after browsing their website I want one.
We spend a ton of time in our pool and on the lake all summer long and I love all the fun sun products that One Step Ahead carries. From clothes to toys I wish I had it all. I have purchased from One Step Ahead myself and I am always happy with my purchase. This summer Lil Sis will be rocking her new swim set from them all summer long.
