I’m big on safety with my child. I’m a worry-wart and any time I have to leave Sonshine with someone else, I go into over-protective mother mode. We go over what to do when you’re lost. We’re working on memorizing important names and numbers, but as a preschooler, this task is easier said than done. I’ve tried using marker on his arms with our phone number, but they always take forever to scrub off. I even had those awesome tattoos, but, if he moves and scraps it before it’s dried, the tattoo is smudged. He’s even been picked up with most of the tattoo scratched off. I was at my wit’s end and just about to purchase a rope to keep him and his sitters literally attached together when (Ikast Etiket) Label Yourself was introduced to me!
Label Yourself has numerous lines of products including:
- Name Tags
- Name Stickers
- Wristbands
- Tickets
- Infobands
- Lanyards
I was quite impressed by the array of items the site had not only to label your kids and their items, but a whole slew of products you can use for fundraisers, concerts, large family/group outings, and even all types of labels to use if you make your own clothes! As a mom though, the Infobands and Infoflex wrist id’s for kids caught my eye the most.
The Infoflex wrist id for kids reminds me of the slap bracelets I had as a child. You just gently slap it on your child’s wrist and the bracelet will wrap around it. These are better for older children, who have hands larger than the rest of their arms. We found it’s currently a bit too big for Sonshine’s arm. You could slap it on their ankle, but my little guy wasn’t having that. There are four different designs, each with reflective characters. Sonshine picked the green one with little aliens on it. You can use a ballpoint pen or fine tipped permanent maker to write your information on. The Infoflex is also reusable.
The Infobands are my favorite new thing. I opted for three of them, one to use with mom & dad and the others for when he’s out with his grandparents. The bands are reusable and can be written on with pen or permanent marker. There is a space for your phone number along with other important information such as allergies, disabilities, the child’s name, etc. Whatever you find to be important. The plastic used is latex and PVC-free and uses a patented safety latch that let’s your adjust the size of the bracelet and requires two hands to open. If adjusted to the right snugness, there is no way this will slip right off! There are eleven different designs and even the opportunity to design your own!
Knowing my child is off in the world without me wearing his Infoband helps ease my worry (even if it’s only slightly!). It’s a scary idea, losing your child. While in a store a couple of years ago, I was picking out a gift for a friend’s child while my husband was in another part of the store. Somehow, Sonshine gave him the slip. I’ve never felt such sheer panic in my life! The store was great and we found him safe and sound moments later, but I never want anyone to feel that way! Using Infobands and Infoflex wrist ids are a great way to help your child get the help they need easily when the wander off or get separated from you!
