One of my weaknesses is gourmet popped corn. I know for some women is it chocolate, cakes or candies but for me it is the delightful mix of crunch and fluffy white puffs of goodness that sooth my cravings. From the moment I first tried gourmet popped corn I had forgotten there was any other alternative, because there honestly isn’t anything that can compare. G.H. Cretors proves that to a most delicious point and I was excited to try all of their flavors!
Let me break down each of their flavors and how they are unique. Let’s start with my very, very, very favorite – Caramel Corn.
- Just the Caramel Corn is made the old fashioned way, in an old fashioned copper kettle one batch at a time! The same way that they’ve been making it since 1885.
- Kettle Corn is my husband’s most favorite treat. It has four simple ingredients: sunflower oil, popcorn, cane sugar and sea salt. Yum! It is the perfect mix of sweet and salty.
- Just the Cheese Corn is made with real cheddar cheese and you can taste it! The difference in G.H. Cretors Just the Cheese Corn and non gourmet brands is so extreme that you’d swear you’d never tasted cheese popcorn before.
- Caramel Nut Crunch was my husband and I’s super secret treat. My tot is allergic to Tree Nuts and Cashews to the extreme. As this contains both Almonds and Cashews, we would grab it late at night when he was asleep we would sneak this incredible treat out and eat it hiding in the livingroom. Oh my goodness! It is extremely addicting. So much that my husband stole it away one night while I was asleep and finished it without me. I am still hoarding that over his head!
- Chicago Mix I must admit scared me at first. Cheddar Cheese Popcorn and Caramel? What was wrong with Chicago?!? It took me over a week to finally cave and try this mix and mainly it was because I ran out of Just the Caramel Corn and I am addicted to it. So I figured I would just test it out and see what these crazy Chicago popcorn eaters were doing. You know what? It was actually really good! I still think they might be crazy mixing these flavors together, but I have to admit they are on to something.
The wonderful thing about G.H. Cretors Popped Corn is that they use Brown Rice Syrup rather than Corn Syrup, which has a low glycemic value and also is packed with good-for-you minerals! It is also gluten-free, which I am sure many of you (or your kids) with gluten allergies are praising! Yay! And to make it all that more exciting.. it is GMO free! I was so happy to read that they honestly cared about having natural products and what they were feeding their consumers. This is certainly a family brand that cares about families.
