I’ve mentioned a time or two about how I like to give back when I can. I don’t have a whole lot to give, but every little bit does help. That’s why I was very excited when I was chosen for the Scott Shared Values campaign through Collective Bias. I had a great idea and I’m really glad that they allowed me to run with it!
I needed to come up with something creative, a good use for toilet paper. Well, what could be a better use than giving it to someone in need? Big Bro headed out on a mission with me to gather Scott Paper Products with the $4 VUDU credit at Walmart. Click that link for our full shopping trip if you’d like to see us in action.

I promise he’s not mad – the sun was in his eyes. |
My big plan was to gather toilet paper to donate to our local food pantry. I don’t think many people realize how essential toilet paper and other personal care items are. Sadly, those are often the most needed and sought after products at food pantries.
We had some people over during the long holiday weekend to celebrate one of our friend’s birthdays. You only turn 35 once, so you’ve got to do it big! I let all of our friends know that I was collecting toilet paper for a donation to our food pantry and encouraged them to bring a roll or so.
I grabbed a large 24 double roll pack of Scott Toilet Paper. My friends brought all of the rest. They were quite generous and I was really impressed with their giving hearts. One small gift can really make a huge impact!
I gathered my donation earlier this afternoon and headed to our town’s Food Pantry. I was really excited to share my donation with them.
Donation in hand, I stepped into the door and was greeted by a really nice woman. I explained that I was there with a donation of toilet paper and handed her the bags. A smile immediately crossed her face and she thanked me from the bottom of her heart. She said that they needed toilet paper so bad.
It really warmed my heart to be able to do something that will help people. I think that’s a very important part of life, because you never know when you might need a helping hand from someone else. I believe in Karma and good deeds do not go unnoticed!
I also mentioned above that I purchased Scott Paper Towels. You would not believe how much paper towel we go through with a household our size.
We use it for cleaning mostly. Our sliding glass window gets especially dirty because the dogs are always putting their nose on it, trying to look out and see what’s going on.
The VUDU credit – well I kept that all to myself. I’m overdue for a chick flick, so I redeemed my credits through the Scott Shared Values page on Walmart’s website. Redeeming my code was easy and I was done within about a minute, if that. The hardest part was choosing the movie to rent with my credits! When I came across Shotgun Wedding, I knew I had to see it – so that was my choice. I’m going to snuggle up tonight for an evening of relaxation!
