My husband has really been getting into DIY projects ever since we purchased our home a little over a year ago. One of the things we’ve grown accustomed to when going into a project is the fact that afterwards there is bound to be paint that needs touching up or areas that need complete paint overs. And that is a little bit of a pain when working inside the house with a four year old who wants to get into everything! Handing him a paint brush comes with iffy results.
Since I love DIY home projects, I was sent a few Color-Glide Pro tubes to check out. The idea of them is very simple. You fill the tube with paint, shake it up and use the felt-tipped sponge to paint over areas. There are some great benefits to this:
- It is cleaner than using a paint bucket and a brush.
- The tube allows you to store the paint and bring it out for touch-ups without having to deal with paint bucket, brush, canvas or tape.
- It is so easy that even our toddler could use it! It was actually really fun to let him help!
- Clean up is really fast! You just have to wash down the dispenser cap and put the top on the tube!

My husband had made this door to our fence a few weeks ago. He had painted it and then the big storm hit that went through the midwest and the winds damaged the wood. He had to re-build it and my tot and I were huge helpers in using the Color-Glide Pro to repaint the door! I loved how easy it was and also how it painted more smoothly than a big brush had. The felt-tip allows for an even paint and it can get into small recesses in the wood that a larger paint brush couldn’t do. They also come in different sizes to fit the job.
