family fun, birthday party gifts or solo play on a snowy day. With
topics like knitting, pet rocks, castles, caterpillars and fairies,
there’s truly something for everyone, and at $5 to $20, for every
budget. Nearly all come in a tin for storage and travel, the handled
ones could even be used as a lunchbox.
I will admit when I was a kid the best toys were ones with no batteries and were very basic so that my brother and I had to use our imagination to make it fun. Boy did we have fun. We made up games using marbles, giant boxes were a gold mine and we literally would play for hours with toys that were simple. I often think that it today’s world too many things light up and make horrible noises. Imaginations should be something that is fostered. That is probably why I love the new Imagine I Can line from Manhattan Toy so much. They are taking simple toys and designs and making a small kit so your child can use their imagination for unlimited fun.
We first tried out the Imagine I Can Catch a Pirate Game. Big Sis loves pirates and games so I knew this would be a hit.
Simple, yet strategic 2 to 5 player game. Collect the most pirates and
you win the game. Catch the captain when you can for an extra advantage!
Kit includes 3 wooden dice, 1 wooden captain figure, 27 printed pirate
cards and 1 instructional booklet that fit inside an easy-to-carry tin.
Pack it up and bring it where ever you go!
Here is a picture of the game in action. Not gonna lie I am a big pirate fan myself so I was excited to play. It is a fun and quick game so that my 4 year old enjoys playing it without getting board. I like that it fits all nice and neat into a tiny little tin because you can take this game anywhere you go. I also think this would make a great gift for children at parties because you know they won’t already have it and you know most kids love games and pirates. It is a win win. Except for the fact that I lost the first time I played. I tend to be competitive even though Big Sis is only 4. She loved the game and is always asking to play.
Next up we tried out the Imagine I Can Figure Paint Fun kit. This is messy so you know the kids are gonna like it!
This finger paint set is sized perfectly for little hands. Kids can get
creative and have fun making one-of-a-kind designs using the colorful
textures, patterns and shapes. Paint is washable & comes in four
different colors. Plus the painting supplies can be stored in the cute
portable storage tin. Finger painting kit includes: 4 washable paint
colors, 3 plastic stampers & 3 plastic scrappers.
Here is the nice and clean before picture:
Here is the craziness that is finger paint. Which is some of the most fun a toddler can have.
Both my girls had a blast playing with this finger paint. Afterwards I gave them a big bowl of soapy water and they had fun washing off the scrappers and stampers while at the same time getting them clean so that I can keep them for the next time we paint. This was an awesome activity for us that morning. The quality of the utensils with it were super sturdy and will last for years to come. I put it all away in the lunchbox in came with for easy storage.
The new I CAN kits come in a wide variety and you can pick one out based on age and likes of your kiddos. I was already a big fan of Manhattan Toy before and these kits are just exactly the type of item I would expect them to add to their lineup.
