I first fell in love with DidiPop when my son was roughly 8mo old and we were listening to educational songs on Youtube. We ran across the most popular version of the ABC song, The Cool Alphabet Song, and from there a relationship bloomed with children’s music.
You can imagine my excitement when we were contacted by DidiPop to review her newest CD, Bunny in the Moon! The name alone evokes the whisper of dreams; the sing-song lullabies of bedtime. I was delighted to listen to it for the very first time. Some tracks were bouncy pop like I would expect from DidiPop and others were lovely and soothing. The notes simply steal you away from wakefulness.

This CD feels as though it should be listened to once your routine begins. Bath Time and My Old Pajamas are fun songs that you can imagine little giggles popping within. They’re great for rounding your children up and dancing your way through the night time necessities. Brush Brush is really cute. It is actually sang with her daughter! One of the greatest things about DidiPop is that Deborah (the singer) involves both of her daughters who help her with the music and songwriting!
I Love You Mommy starts to wind things down. The harmony echo in the music kicks in and slows down the beat. My personal favorite song on the album is Snuggles and Books. There is such beauty in her voice as she sings about familiar books we all read to our children. It is that moment during bedtime when you are softly reading to your child and you see their eyes gently drooping down. When your voice drops to a whisper and you keep reading because you don’t want to give up the moment.
What I call ‘the dreaming songs’, that follow Lights Out, are just as fantastical as the dreams that our children run away to. You can imagine moments when they bounce from cloud to moonbeam, following the Little Star. I absolutely love Bunny in the Moon.
