Bobbi-Toads Shoes Review

and launched in 2012, Bobbi-Toads are comfortable, stylish shoes for
girls that give them the ability to create a one-of-a-kind shoe by
applying nail polish to the nail of the embossed toes. Choose a color,
select a style and apply the polish. Don?t worry if moods change; the
polish can be easily removed for a whole new look. 

Big Sis is like most girls in the fact that she is obsessed with all things girly. Dressing up, makeup and dolls are pretty much all day every day. I do paint her toenails and fingernails with non-toxic polish but I can be a bit OCD on the way it looks so I never let her do it herself…that is until now. 


Bobbi-Toads have ones with laces and ones with Velcro. I like Velcro since it means Big Sis can do it herself but I think the ones with shoelaces might be even cuter than the Velcro ones! Here is the pair I was sent to review. You can see the outline of toes on the white part and looking even closer you can see the outline of toenails.

I would call these shoes more “chunky” than the tennis shoes we are use to but that did not bother Big Sis at all as she is wearing them constantly and running around in them with no problem at all.

The bottoms of them are cute too.

The Bobbi-Toads line of shoes for girls includes six different styles, featuring a variety of colors and designs available in both Velcro and lace-up closures. The shoes come in a variety of sizes as well, ranging from little girls? 11-13 to big girls? 1-6. Bobbi-Toads also offers non-toxic Bobbi-Polish and polish remover via the company’s website. The polish comes in ten shades, from Cotton Candy pink and Doodle Ball blue to Forest Dew green and Sweet Frosty Grape purple.

Their instructions say to use a non-toxic polish which works for us because I always have several bottles of piggy paint around the house. Big Sis was super excited because I let her paint these all on her own. She was super excited and for only being 4.5 years old I think she did a great job!

The polish also comes off easily with the non-toxic piggy paint remover that we already owned. I do not know how the Bobbi-Toad polish and remover works but since it is non-toxic like Piggy Paint I imagine it would work pretty well.

I also find that if Big Sis is playing outside a lot while wearing these the paint comes off fairly easily. That is not a problem for us since she wants to paint them to match her outfits most days anyway.

These are definitely the only shoes I know of that you are meant to paint the toenails right on the shoe. Every time Big Sis wears her Bobbi-Toad shoes out she shows everyone how she painted the toenails herself. She is very outgoing and even the neighbor’s lawn workers know about her new shoes now.

We do live in Florida and I will admit that we wear flip flops and sandals a majority of the year. When it comes to school and playing on the playground I always insist on tennis shoes to protect her feet and to give her more stability while running around. Big Sis always complains that she can’t wear her pretty sandals. Now that she has her Bobbi-Toads she no longer complains and she puts these on proudly.

She also loves it when I put the polish on her fingers so that her fingernails and Bobbi-Toad toenails match. Now she likes to paint her shoes to match her outfits. I also find that her painting these toenails gives her a fun and quick project to do while also working on her fine motor skills. Every time she paints them she gets a little better at it.

At first glace the idea of painting toenails on shoes might seem a little silly (it is ok to feel that way as I did too at first). The most important part is Big Sis literally loves these shoes and every time she shows them off to people they always ask what they are because they know a little girl that would love a pair too.
