Canberra was a planned metropolis completed in the 1960’s. It is now home to 300,000 people. It was designed to be garden city has stayed true to this vision. The city’s population is high but the design prevents the city from feeling crowded. Low crime rate and affordable housing, sounds like something from a dream in this economic hardship. Canberra was named number two for most family-friendly city. Bring your children up surrounded by their countries history and politics. It is such an enriching environment. This town found its way up the list with its high disposable incomes and great childcare availability.

Who doesn?t dream of living near the beach? Sunny blue skies and golden sand are the perfect way to spend your weekends. The Gold coast has been ranked as one of the lowest family-friendly cities in Australia in the past but is working quickly to change this. The town is working hard to increase employment levels, income, health services and availability of childcare services. This up and coming town is working hard to relive its glory days or rather recreate a family-friendly environment that will last.
