For years,I’ve been known for my amazing and delicious breakfasts. One thing that I had never done from scratch is a skillet though. I always bought the Jimmy Dean bagged ones, which are good.. but certainly not homemade. The fact that neither of the grocery stores around here carry the ham ones had me a little bummed because that’s the only one that I really liked. So last weekend, I decided to make my own! Let me tell you… it’s so easy! Of course, it’s even better than that frozen stuff too!
Ingredients:
Hashbrowns
Ham Steak
Bacon
Eggs
Milk
Cheddar Cheese
Directions:
Cook the hashbrowns in large skillet according to directions. Cut ham steak into cubes, warm over low heat in skillet, set aside when warm. Cook bacon, once bacon is done, cool and rip into chunks; set aside. Crack eggs into bowl, adding just a little milk, scramble and set aside. Once hashbrowns are done, add ham, bacon and the egg mixture to your skillet. Scrape bottom/sides of pan as if you are making scrambled eggs. Continue until all egg is cooked. Your skillet will “scramble” together as it cooks. Serve on plates topped with shredded cheese!
The great thing about a homemade skillet is that you can use as little or as much of any of the ingredients that you want, depending on how many people you are feeding. Ideally, you can even make a skillet for one! You can also really add in anything else that you like including mushrooms, green peppers, onion, sausage or anything else that you can think of!
