I dreaded it pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, and still struggle with it three years after being pregnant. That dreaded “mommy pooch”, especially after having a C-section, is a daily annoyance and embarrassment. What I didn’t know, but makes total sense once you hear about it, is that pregnancy is one of the biggest weights that stretches your abdominal wall. Sometimes, after the pregnancy is over, the walls stay stretched apart. This is called Diastasis Recti and luckily, can be fixed through different types of exercise!
Leah Keller, an expert in pre- and postnatal fitness, has developed a brand new workout DVD titled The Dia Method. The workout DVD comes out later this spring, but I got an exclusive look at it, and I have to say, it’s amazing!

Diastasis Recti is a major cause of back pain, weak
push muscles, and the reason a lot of women show a lot sooner during their second pregnancy. You’ll learn how to bring that bellybutton back, all in science base exercises safe to do while pregnant and postnatal. In the first workout, Leah shows you how to feel if your diastasis is pushed apart. She also explains that it’s never too late to heal the problem (such great news!) and that all it takes is ten minutes a day!
My favorite part of the workouts (asides from the adorable Leah Keller) is the time bar at the bottom. You always know how long you have left to do in your reps. You’ll find a ten minute workout for every area of the body you want to workout, including:
- Abs
- Arms
- Anti-Waddle
- Empowered Labor
- Mama’s First Steps
- Firm, Flat, and Fabulous
- Everyday Moves; Healing Power
The Dia Method is unlike any other workout DVD out there. You’ll learn exactly how to keep yourself healthy during and after pregnancy side by side with a great teacher. Nothing is too crazy or strenuous, but you’ll definitely see a difference in your body!
