At Crispy Green, we believe in a simple philosophy: keep it pure, keep it tasty and keep it wholesome. This has been and will always be the guiding principle of our continuing product development.
The company was founded in August 2004 with a vision to be the leading provider of high quality, all natural snack food products desired by everyone who wants to live a healthier and better life.
During the summer of 2005, we introduced our Crispy Green? line of single ingredient products, made with real fruit, real taste, nothing else?, using the latest freeze-drying technology. Our high quality packaging and unique branding strategy had helped Crispy Green’s Crispy Fruit quickly become one of the leading premium, freeze-dried fruit snacks in the marketplace.
I guess we’re pretty lucky in my house. Fresh fruit is one of our favorite things to snack on. Our crisper is always stocked with apples, strawberries, and a new fruit for Sonshine to try! So, how can I have a complaint you ask? Well, fresh fruit is not the easiest to tote around during errands, play dates, or other out of the house activities. Have you ever left a banana in your diaper bag and forgotten about it? Not only does is start to smell, but that squishy, brown-ish spot is such a pain to get out of things! With Crispy Green, I no longer have to worry about forgetting the fruit in my bag.
Crispy Green is a line of freeze dried fruit. It’s real fruit, the best of the best, that’s been frozen and then placed in a drying chamber under a vacuum. Heat is applied, while the fruit is still frozen, and the water is evaporated. Once the water is all gone, you’re done! It roughly takes ten pounds of fruit to make one pound of freeze dried. Because of the process under gone, nothing can grow on that fruit and it lasts for years, with no change of texture or taste.
We were lucky enough to taste a wide variety of the Crispy Green line. Sonshine was taken a-back with his first taste, claiming it was candy and not fruit. He then gobbled up the whole bag of Crispy Apples. The bag I kept to myself was the Kiwi, which is a part of their FruitziO line. These contain a hint of cane sugar to add a sweetness. The freeze dried kiwi’s had a very tart flavor to them (which is something I love) and the real cane sugar added a nice undertone. I was very sad when my hand reached the end of the bag. I was amazed by the other flavors as well. They tasted just as good as their fresh counterpart, but they allow me a quick snack to bring with us when we’re on the go.
Crispy Green is a fantastic, healthy snack:
Light, crispy texture with fresh fruit taste No additives or preservatives No fat, no cholesterol No skin or cores Natural fruit fiber and nutrients Only 55 or less calories per serving
I feel great about giving my son a bag of Crispy Green when he’s too busy playing to stop for lunch. I feel good about snacking on a bag when a sweet tooth craving hits, there is no (okay, little) guilt when I finish a bag in one sitting!
