1. Carousel Baby Room
If you have an unlimited budget and a large room, there is nothing more spectacular than the carousel baby’s room. This room features a carousel with three stationary wooden horses. The carousel is roped off for safety. The way the room is designed, two cribs can be included. The designer uses brown and beige colors.
A chair rail is included around the room and is painted in white. Below the chair rail is beige and brown shaded wall paper. Above the chair rail a complementary brown-beige solid is painted. Over each crib draperies are hung to provide an air of sophistication but yet it is whimsical. This type of design will work well in a room with a rounded turret-like style space.
2. Geometric Shapes
Geometric shapes in rooms can be quite beautiful. If you are having a girl, the shapes can be in painted in pinks, grays, whites, and blacks. Circles with borders or open rectangles are common. A boy’s room may be listed in dark blues, light blues, browns, and greens. There is so much flexibility with geometric shapes. Some parents also paint the child’s name on the wall above the crib.
3. Nautical Room
On the ceiling of a nautical-based room, a compass with the directional arms can jut out from the light fixture in the middle. Recessed lights can line the ceiling around the room close to the crown molding. On the wall, a blue background can be painted with white or lighter blue clouds. Lighthouses can be painted on the wall or hung around the room for additional effect. The baby’s crib can be decorated in all blue and a rocking chair can include cushions of the same color.
4. Frog Theme
If you want to veer from the normal pink room for a girl, try the green and blue room. Paint the wall lime green and also paint butterflies and plants of complementary colors. A blue border can be painted near the ceiling if there is no crown molding. Find wooden letters at the hardware store that spell your child’s first name. Hang each letter from a ribbon that is blue or a lighter green. Turquoise blue is a good choice for the blues.
5. Monochromatic Color Scheme
Choose one color like blue or pink and buy various shades of the color. Paint the room with stripes, circles or other designs. Choose a complementary color for contrast to break up the monotony.
Be Creative for Your Baby Room
Having a baby is a monumental time in your life. Design a room that is creative and fun to be in while you are nursing, changing and caring for your baby. You will be pleased with the results.
