In 1995, JumpSport’s Co-Founders, Mark and Valerie Publicover, heard
their children cry for help from the backyard. Mark ran outside to the
trampoline where the kids were playing and found their friend’s youngest
daughter on the ground where she appeared to be seriously hurt. Prior
to this accident, the Publicover children had also fallen off the
trampoline several times prompting Mark to sketch out several ideas for a
safety enclosure… Today this landmark invention now protects millions of kids around the
world and has prevented 100,000’s of needless trampoline injuries.
Being the parents of an active toddler or pre-schooler can be a scary ordeal sometimes. They are amazingly active and agile little creatures who climb with the skills of a monkey, bounce like kangaroos, and even seem to glide like flying squirrels sometimes. (Granted, I’m the one who feels squirrel-y most of the time!) It can become difficult to keep them 100% safe all of the time, asides from making your whole home out of rubber and pillows, but, you can be smart about your child’s safety with the toys and equipment they use!
A few weeks ago, we had this amazing JumpSport iBounce kid’s trampoline arrive on our doorstep. It is by far the coolest toy to ever take up residency in our playroom! It is a personal-sized trampoline for ages 2-5 years (recommended), in the shape of a triangle, with handles bars so little ones can work on their balance, coordination, and endurance. You can also add a child-proof mount so littles can watch your iPad, Nook, Kindle, or other tablet to add to their fun and exercise! The tablet mount can be rotated to adjust to your child’s height and securely locks.

Sonshine loves his JumpSport trampoline, but before we get to that, let’s talk about set up! We had a few snafu’s with pieces, but there is a number to call if your pieces do not fit, may be bent, or causing some other problem in the set up process. Setup takes about 15 minutes or so, but when we reached the 30 minute mark, we stepped back, accessed our pieces and realized we needed to replace a few. It was super simple to do and the customer service is hands down, fantastic! Once our new pieces arrived, we set to work reassembling and it was fairly quick and easy to do. Hubbers and I are opposites when it comes to putting things together. I forgo the instruction and he re-reads them before each step, numerous times. I highly suggest re-reading them, this is a product your are putting together for your child to jump and bounce on! Oh and if you’re assembling together, let just one person do the bungee cords. I’m not as strong as my husband so when we attempted to put them on at the same time, my side was a lot looser. You’ll want an even tightness all around, because, safety first!
Once it was fully assembled, we maneuvered it down the hallway and into the playroom, where it fits in a corner, just like it’s meant to be. At almost 3, Sonshine has never been on a trampoline before, because I’ve deemed them unsafe. All I could see was a broken arm/leg and just the general unsafeness. Now with our JumpSport iBounce kid’s trampoline, all my worries are put at ease! Sonshine always grabs a handle and carefully steps up onto it. Even without us telling him, he always holds onto the handle bars before jumping like crazy. Even if he slips, the base of the trampoline is covered by a soft and slightly plush wrap featuring the adorable RompyRoo kangaroo (who has a DVD included in the bundle which teaches kids how to exercise in a fun way! Sonshine is more of a jump at will guy, so right now, the DVD is on the back burner) and he’s only about a foot from the ground. My pre-schooler uses the trampoline daily, in mini spurts here and there or whenever I need him to calm down and bounce off some energy. It’s the perfect indoor activity we can use year round and never have to worry about weather or other dangerous things happening!
