Thanks for joining us for our second annual “Winter Wishes” Gift Guide! We’ve put together some great gift ideas this year and have some awesome prizes to give away too! This event will run through the New Year, so make sure to check back often to see what’s new! Our gift guide page has all of our gifts by category, which you can see by clicking the image above.
Nearly 4 years ago, when I was expecting my second child, I knew that babywearing would save me with the transition from 1 child to 2. (Saved me with the 2 to 3 transition too!) I did a lot of research, read a ton of reviews, and bought a Sleepy Wrap (now Boba Wrap.) The wrap was my bff until I got a Boba Carrier; then they had to share my love.
My Boba carrier got me through 5 flights (including a missed flight that left us in the airport all day,) grocery shopping, meals out, birthday parties…you name it. My carrier is now about 3 years old and going strong, but I couldn’t help but want one of the 3G carriers with all its great new features.
I think the Boba is packaged perfectly to give it as a gift, and what a gift that would be!
One of the notable features of the Boba vs. other soft structured carriers are the foot straps, which support a larger child’s feet, and keep their legs in the proper, ergonomic position. They slide along the waist band to be used with front or back carries, adjust easily with snaps, and can be removed.
Boba carriers come in gorgeous colors and prints, including the Dusk I received.
My original Boba doesn’t have the nice zippered pocket, in which you can store the hood, or wallet, cell phone etc. It also has a small, zippered waist pocket (perfect for keys, and sized to fit most smart phones) as well as a patch pocket that would be great to store a business card or two.
Another unique feature of the Boba is to roll it up and secure it with elastic bands,or simply remove it all together.
The hood still attaches to snaps on the shoulder straps, but now you can also lengthen and shorten the hood to fit you & your baby perfectly.
Another awesome feature is the purse strap on each shoulder. Right near the hood snap on each shoulder, there is a small unsnapping strap that holds your purse, and keeps it from falling off your shoulder.
The back buckle has webbing on each side for you to tug and tighten to make it snug and comfortable.
The back buckle easily slides up and down, so you can make it comfortable, while still being able to reach it.
The waist buckle has a strap on each side to easily tug and tighten. It is so simple to adjust, there’s no worry about sharing a carrier between two different sized people.
The shoulder straps adjust at both ends (giving you extra adjustment to bring baby closer to you or further away, or easy nursing in the carrier,) and they are nice and padded for comfort. Excess webbing rolls up and secures neatly with elastic straps.
Above is me with my 16ish pound 9 1/2 month old (at the time.) I can also carry my 3 year, 4 month old, 30ish pound son, but he couldn’t be bribed to get in and let me take photos!
Another feature that my “original” Boba did not have is the “newborn snap” and infant head support strap. When you are using the carrier with a small baby, the waist band folds up onto itself and snaps into place. Reverse the buckle, and you can now hold your little one up close. The straps inside the hood pocket provide additional support for bobble heads (tee-hee.)
Since I don’t have an eeny teeny baby anymore, I borrowed my friend and her sweet baby girl, who is about 12 weeks old and just under 12 pounds in these photos.
It was quite simple to use.
Boba also has a stuff sack to match your carrier & transport it, and organic cotton teething pads.
They are launching a combo pack on November 14th that includes both of these accessories!
I love my Boba!
