I have a large family now, so I’m sure you can imagine our big rise in grocery costs. I would have to say it close to tripled, since we added 3 people and groceries just went up on their own! I honestly dread grocery shopping and want to cry at the damage each time. That’s why when I heard about the new Delicious on a Dime Cookbook from All You Magazine, I knew I just had to take a peak.
“From appetizers to desserts, we?ve collected over 150 of our favorite recipes for you to plan easy-to-make, inexpensive meals around in our newset cookbook, Delicioius on a Dime.”
After carefully browsing the entire cookbook, I decided what I wanted to make. I have been craving Chicken Potpie, but absolutely refuse to eat the frozen kind. I think they’re disgusting! I found a Chicken Potpie recipe in the Delicious on a Dime Cookbook that you make and serve casserole style. It does take an hour between prep and bake time, but is oh so worth it. Estimated at around $1.38 per serving, it won’t break the bank either!
I had a frozen pizza in the freezer for fall back because I figured at least one of the kids wouldn’t like the Chicken Potpie. Imagine my surprise when they all loved it and the pizza never left the freezer! The recipe calls for a round cookie cutter, which I couldn’t find. With the Fall season in full swing, I thought my pumpkin cookie cutter would do just fine
