The images of September 11, 2001 are burned in my mind for eternity. I’m sure they’re burned in the minds of every person in our nation, today especially. It’s been 11 years and you still see and hear talk about it, especially today, 9/11.
Today, we come together as friends, as neighbors, as acquaintances; as a country, to remember that terrifying day and to say a prayer for each life that was lost due to such horrendous hatred.
Do you remember where you were and what you were doing? I do.
I was pregnant with Lil Man, sleeping all snug in my bed. The Man walked into our bedroom, turned on the TV and woke me up. Just waking up, it took a minute to really sink in; to really understand what was happening. I remember one of my firs thoughts was hoping this was the worst of it and I would be able to meet my unborn baby. I was scared out of my mind, hoping nothing would happen around us. We lived 2 miles away from the airport, right in a flight path at the time. That’s pretty scary!
11 years later I still remember, you still remember, we all still remember. We remember that hatred tried to tear our country apart. We wouldn’t let it. We still won’t let it.
