First off, I must admit that this is not my recipe. I got this recipe from a cookbook I am really obsessed with right now from Gooseberry Patch called 101 Cozy Casseroles! Lately it is all I’ve been really cooking meals with because it makes for great leftovers. My husband started working a swing shift so having family dinners has been a little difficult lately. I tend to make these casseroles in advance so that way it is ready-set-go on the table and we can try and have a little time before he disappears for the day.
This one is one of my newest favorites because it is so easy! It’s called, Potato Puff Casserole and it is made with none other than tater tots and I love tater tots! I hope you enjoy trying this out with your family!
The ingredients are pretty simple!
- Bag of Tater Tots
- 3 Cans of Green Beans
- 1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup (I have a family size in the photo but you just need a small can.)
- Slices of American Cheese (It says to use cheese spread, but I liked this better.)
- 1 lb of Hamburger
Brown the Hamburger and then mix with the Cream of Mushroom Soup. Pour the mixture into a greased baking pan. I just used some spray on light Pam. After that, add your Green Beans, then your Cheese and top with Tater Tots!
It says to cook it on 400′ for 20 minutes covered with foil and then for 10 minutes uncovered. I honestly suggest just covering it with foil and putting it in the oven for an hour since that is how long it took until the cheese melted. Your oven could be different! Just heat until the cheese is melted and then take the foil off and bake for an extra 10 minutes to give the tater tots that golden brown crisp!
A great meal to cook ahead of time or just for something warm and cozy like home.
