Mohawk Rugs Review – Springing Into Summer Fun

My favorite part of spring cleaning is not the actually cleaning aspect, but the time I get to rearrange the house and finally have an excuse to buy a little something new to spruce up or make a room come together. We’re in the process of (slowly, very slowly) updating our kitchen. It’s a large square, with a bare wall on one side, which we’re promptly ignoring for now, and outdated counter tops and cabinets. We had to buy a stove and fridge when we moved in as well. As this is our first house and our starter home for our very young family, the whole house kitchen is a hodge-podge of the old and the new. We know the direction we want to take the kitchen, but we needed a little something that would pull it together now and still look great after the remodel.

After working in a coffee shop for years, I know the importance an anti-fatigue mat and I desperately needed one by my kitchen sink. The Live, Laugh, Love anti-fatigue mat not only has one of my favorite quotes on it, but, it is stylish and the perfect size. With a 3/8″ height, it is plush and comfortable to stand on for an extended period of time. In fact, I’ve found my son dragging it out of the kitchen and into the living room to sit on while he’s coloring, dancing, or watching t.v. He thinks it’s his own personal little mat!

And the colors are perfect. I really detest the blonde colored wood of our cabinets, but the neutral colors of the rug with the simple splash of red almost make them bearable. As you can see, our kitchen really is a mix of the old and new. We are planning to change out and make all the appliances black, with darker colored cabinets and I know I won’t have to change out my new kitchen mat when the time comes! The mat is made from polyester with a polyurethane backing, so it’s not machine washable, just spot cleaning is needed. Also, it soaks up water pretty well. Sonshine and Hubbers are not the most proficient at keeping water in the sink and after many abuses, my mat is still in great shape and has no mildew. It’s the perfect piece I need just to pull together my little eclectic kitchen!
