Lovin’ Compassion Awards from Lovin’ Scoopful with Review and Giveaway-Springing into Summer Fun {CLOSED}

 Lovin’ Scoopful is more than just a reduced fat ice cream that tastes fantastic (and believe me, it does taste fantastic). Lovin’ Scoopful, which was created by Maria Shriver, brother Tim Shriver and other partners, has a goal to create smiles, as many as they can! The company donates 25% of their post tax profits to the Special Olympics. If you have ever been involved in any way with a Special Olympics event, you know that you are surrounded by smiles! I had the opportunity to participate as a “Buddy” for three years at a local Special Olympics track meet when I was a youth and I can honestly say that that opportunity touched my life forever. The sweetness and the smiles on the faces of the athletes, whether they came in first or last, gave me the perspective my teenage life needed!

Lovin’ Scoopful wants to recognize young leaders who are involved in programs that foster respect, inclusion and true personal connection for people with differences.They have created the Lovin’ Compassion Award to recognize these youth. Speaking of these award recipients, Maria Shriver says, ?It’s a great joy to recognize young leaders with the Lovin’ Compassion Award who are moving beyond the status quo and going beyond their comfort zones to foster more respect and acceptance in their communities. Showing compassion for others takes tremendous courage at any age and we’re pleased to reward these young architects of change for their selfless service. We hope their stories will inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”

Who is Lovin’ Scoopful looking for? According to a press release from the company:

“Award winners will be youth between the ages of eight at 18 who are involved with Special Olympics programs such as Unified Sports?, the Spread the Word to End the Word? campaign, Young Athletes, Get Into It? and Project UNIFY?, as well as Best Buddies and other organizations that are designed to create more accepting communities.Through program involvement, recipients must have exemplified characteristics that promote human rights, inclusion, equality and leadership through education.”

The four regional winners will each receive the following prizes:

In my introduction, I mentioned that Lovin’ Scoopful was more than a reduced fat ice cream that tastes great. Well, it is more, but it is also a reduced fat ice cream that TASTES GREAT! My family had the opportunity to sample two Lovin’ Scoopful flavors. We tried What the Fudge and Caramel Chocolate Crispy Treat. Both were fabulous. What the Fudge is a rich chocolate ice cream that features a rich chocolate ribbon. Caramel Chocolate Crispy Treat is a fabulous vanilla ice cream with a caramel ribbon and chocolate covered crispy rice pieces. You would never know that this ice cream was reduced fat! It is very rich and tastes fabulous. And best of all, when you are eating your rich, creamy ice cream you can feel good knowing that a portion of your purchase is going to help the Special Olympics programs!
