We were all having a bad hair day ? mother, daughter, and niece. While commiserating over our unanimous beverage of choice, coffee, we realized that how our hair looks on any given day impacts how we feel. After countless trips to cosmetics counters, specialty stores and drug stores, we continued to find ourselves unable to purchase a shampoo which would give our hair volume, shine and bounce.

For all my love of coffee, I had never assumed I would be bathing in it. Although, the smell of coffee is always tantalizing and the idea of smelling like a cup of sweet bitter bean had me incredibly excited! For all the products that I’ve reviewed in these past years, this was one of my favorites.

In recent years, coffee has re-emerged as a natural restorative exhibiting numerous advantageous properties. Published studies have documented the benefits of topical application of coffee and its major constituent, caffeine.

Barista Bath & Body products are made with organic coffee, coffee extract, essential oils and herbal extracts to maximize the benefits of the coffee. All of their products are paraben-free, phthalate-free and sulfate-free and use natural preservatives (e.g.citric acid). I had no idea caffeine or coffee for that matter, did so much! I was given the opportunity to review the b3 Shower Essentials Gift Set which included One Lump or Two, Room for Cream and Triple Shot. Let’s break each of them down to show their wonderful properties.

One Lump or Two is a Sea Salt and Coffee body scrub. It removes dry skin and through essential oils, re-hydrates and nourishes the skin.

I was, and still am, very amazed at how soft this scrub leaves your skin. The essential oils do not leave an unkind residue, rather it feels like silk after a nice shave. The only, very minor, downside is that you will have to clean your tub afterwards of coffee and like with all salts, do not use if you have an open sore on your hand, but these are very minuscule in comparison to the worth of how your skin will feel. In fact, I’m pretty positive my skin has never been as soft with any other scrub.

The Triple Shot coffee shower gel is my favorite! Out of each of the products I was given to review, this one smelled as I had dreamed it would. A very sweet, deep, dark coffee scent that hydrates with organic coffee and Vitamin E. It energizes as it exfoliates and is quite stimulating!

And of course, you have to leave Room for Cream, a wonderful blend of natural butters – Shea, Cocoa and Mango. It is not greasy, drys quickly and is fantastic alone or as the topping to the rest of the Shower Essentials. I have a little bottle so I keep it in my purse and take it with me everywhere. I love the very light scent, it reminds me of the foam on top of a cappuccino (it does not smell like the foam), a pillow of fluffy goodness.
