…and the fire is so delightful. If you are anything like me, the cold weather makes you want to snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket and a warm mug of cocoa. I don’t want to even think about going outside in the freezing temperatures. I really struggle in the winter months to stay active. I really want to keep going, but the shorter days and freezing temperatures make it so hard to stick with my workout plan. So, what’s a mama to do?
For me the key is having a goal and creating a plan to get there. For me the goal is race. For you the goal could be anything: a dress you want to fit for a holiday party, an upcoming cruise or vacation where you really want to rock your new swimming suit, or anything else that motivates you.
The plan is the most important part. Create a workout plan that works for you and will be easy to stick to. Don’t plan morning workouts if you KNOW you won’t wake up. Don’t plan nighttime workouts if you always drop off into bed the moment the kids are tucked in. Find a time and workout plan that works for YOU. Your plan should start small and build to help avoid injury and burnout.
But most of all, just do it! Don’t let that warm, delightful fire call you for too long, or when Spring rolls around you will really have your work cut out for you.
