These little cuties are so easy to make and have tons of uses. You can attach a bar pin and wear them as lapel pins, pin them to headbands or even ballet flats. You can also make them out of paper for centerpieces or wreaths.
What you need:
- Scraps of fabric (any kind will do, even old T-shirts!) or paper of your choice
- Compass or circle cutter
- Scissors
- Embroidery Needle and Thread
- Start by making 5 circles going down in size with each one. Mine are 4, 3, 3 1/2, 2 and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. I made my templates on cardstock first and then traced and cut them out of my fabric.
- If you are using paper, stack your circles on top of one another largest to smallest placing a dot of glue between each layer. If you are using fabric, stack your circles and using your needle and thread stich a couple small stitches through the center of the whole stack.
- Cut fringes around the edge of each layer, making sure not to cut to thin or close to the center.
- Fill a sink with hot water and a few drops of detergent and gently agitate your flowers in the hot bath. Rinse and dry a few minutes in your dryer or with a blow dryer.
Use however you desire! I plan to make a couple out of denim and a couple in my daughters school colors and make attach them to hair clips.
