Halloween is one of our favorite times of year. Since the kids were super tiny, we have taken them trick-or-treating as a family, never missing a year. It’s like our little tradition, I suppose. Many years, we would go to my MIL’s neighborhood for the last hour of Trick-or-Treat so that she could see the kids all dressed up. When we’d return hungry, she’s have chili waiting for us and fun autumn or Halloween themed bowls that we’d get to take home.
The Man and I also have our own little thing for Halloween. We get together with some friends and go to a Halloween party either at someone’s house or a bar. The past few years, I was always very self conscious because I felt awful in my “fat girl” costumes. When you’re bigger, it’s kind of hard to look good in a costume.
Well this year I am happy to say that I’ll be struttin’ my stuff {and a much slimmer figure!} in the Sexy Sock Hop Sweetie Costume! I am super excited because I love the way it fits, flattering instead of skin tight. It also gives me that little extra “boost” up there, perfect for the part!
“This sexy costume is a 100% polyester dress featuring a bright salmon-pink shirt with cuffed short sleeves and tabbed collar attached to a black skirt adorned with pink polka-dots and a matching black ribbon belt with rhinestone buckle that ties in back for an adjustable fit that hugs your curves. You’ll also get a matching polka dot scarf to tie around your neck or in your hair.”
Of course no poodle skirt is complete without the cute little Poodle Bobby Socks, so the wonderful people at 50’s Costumes included a pair, along with the cute little record earrings below!

Now I have a complete costume for Halloween, and all for under $50. Not bad, huh? Now if only I could get The Man to wear a leather jacket, some Converse shoes and roll his jeans; we’d make quite the pair!
