A Mile In His Shoes is based on the critically acclaimed book written by Frank Nappi. A heartfelt story about Mickey Tussler (played by Luke Schroder), a 17 year old farm boy with Asperger’s Syndrome and an amazing fast ball who is recruited into a minor league baseball team. The manager Murph, is convinced Mickey is gifted, but his Asperger’s keeps him isolated in a world he doesn’t understand. Caught between an over-protective father, the everyday life on the farm and the desire to be a part of a team; Mickey turns to his gift and the amazing support of his teammates and is given the opportunity of a lifetime. Along the way Mickey teaches those around him a few lessons of their own that show them how amazing life can be if you just believe.
A Mile In His Shoes is an awe inspiring story and a great movie to watch with your family. It strengthens the concepts of teamwork, believing, faith and using your differences as positives to overcome challenges in your own unique way. Mickey Tussler could teach us all a few lessons from his strength to try and do something he loved despite his hardships. The Clayton River Rats Manager Murph (played by Dean Cain) gives a very strong support not only in his role but also in his character who believed in Mickey’s gift and gave all his support both to the Tussler family and to Mickey himself to show that despite his Asperger’s, he was no different than anyone else and deserved to live his dream as we all do.
