Now, we’re going to take the paper beads we made here into a bracelet and necklace. These are super easy and the entire process from making the beads to finished product is quick enough it’s great for birthday parties or sleepovers.
For the bracelet:
You will need:
- Elastic cord
- Paper Beads (here I used Magazine beads that are 1″ wide)
- Various other beads (optional)
- Clear nail polish
1. Cut a 12 inch length of elastic cord.
2. Start stringing – this is were you get creative. You can use just your paper beads or combine them with any other beads you have on hand. You can also make different sized paper beads and combine them on the same bracelet for a very cool look.
3. 7 1/2 – 8 inches is the average size for a bracelet, so when you hit this mark, test it to see if it fits your wrist.
4. Tie the ends with a double knot. Secure the knot with a drop of clear nail polish and snip the ends of the cord.
The necklace is the same principle, just on a larger scale.
You will need:
- Elastic cord
- Paper Beads (here I used beads I made from copy paper I painted with watercolors and made 1″ wide )
- Various other beads (optional)
- Clear nail polish
1. Cut a length of your cord approximately 30 inches long.
2. Start stringing – this is were you get creative. You can use just your paper beads or combine them with any other beads you have on hand.
3. When you get to 20-24 inches depending on your preference, tie your double knot and secure with a drop of clear nail polish. Clip the ends and there you go!
