Summer Fun – Shark Week Restless Fury DVD Review

Summer has finally arrived and we couldn’t be more excited! The weather’s nice and lots of fun is to be had. That’s why we’re celebrating this fun season as well as Mel moving into a new house on a lake here at Outnumbered 3 to 1. What a perfect time of year to learn about one of the most terrifying animals in the ocean! My kids are fascinated with sharks.  They always ask two questions before going swimming in the Great Lakes (for those of you who have never experienced the Great Lakes, you can’t see the other side so you get the “ocean” feeling without the saltwater or sharks!).  Are there any sharks?  Are there any alligators?  As a kid growing up in Michigan, we always asked, “can we go inyet?”…..until Jaws was released!

Shark Week Restless Fury by Discovery Channel is very entertaining and educational.  I was surprised at how much my kids knew about sharks as the moderator asked questions throughout the DVD.  Our favorite “episode” was Sharkbite Beach.  In this episode survivors of shark attacks share their stories.  So amazing.  Given the length of the material (and 2 disc) this DVD provided several different opportunities for us to watch the different episodes over a period of time.  You don’t have to be commitmented to 2 hours in from of the TV!
