I?ll be honest, I wasn?t exactly THRILLED to start thinking about swimsuits until the opportunity came along to review one from SwimSpot.com. Being six months post partum does not exactly get you all revved up to shop bathing suits, but thankfully there are some features at this site to help make it easier (well, as easy as possible) for you to do the annual deed.

I know that the idea of buying an item as personal and important as a bathing suit is something that we take pretty seriously. We like to see it, touch it and (alas) try it on. The perk with buying online is you have such a tremendous selection of suits to choose from, but the downside is that you don?t really get to check it out in real life or on real flesh for that matter.

Enter SwimSpot.com. They have some really amazing tools (as well as terrific designer swimwear) to help you make your online bathing suit purchase.

And..they also have a ?Bikini Builder?. I really like how you can pick the brand, and then scroll through the different combination’s. I am not a bikini girl (yet), but if I was then this would be great and very helpful in finding which is something that I liked.

For me, I went with the Athena brand as this is one that would be able to offer me support where I wanted it most.

I am very happy with my choice. I love the high quality texture of the material and the way that this suit fits overall. I probably spent around $100 last year on my maternity swimsuit and am already feeling like I will be much, much happier with this purchase. I have support where I need it in the chest and stomach area AND I feel secure. Since I am going to have monkeys hanging all over me in the neighborhood pool this summer, I wanted to get something that couldn?t easily become a wardrobe malfunction once a child of mine began to flail. Why they must do that is beyond me.

Besides Athena, a couple other brands that caught my eye were Luxe by Lisa Vogel and Ella Moss. Have fun going through them all!

Overall, I recommend SwimSpot.com for picking out your next suit! They offer free shipping on returns, which is really important.

My ONLY concern over the whole experience is how long it took to get the right size. Their site clearly stated it can take up to 10 business days for your order and it took just that. Both times, which pretty much meant a month until I got it right. So my word of caution is that if you have a trip coming up, shop soon, shop early and give yourself time to send it back once, maybe twice. You don?t want to end up ordering a suit and then having to go on vacation without it!!
