Washing your hands is definitely an important thing to do. Unfortunately, getting kids to do it regularly and when they’re supposed to can be a chore. With a house full of boys, I know there have got to be germs everywhere. That’s why I am so excited to share this information with you!
“Lather Up For Good Health? is a family initiative to prevent the spread of infection through hand washing. The CDC agrees it’s important and it only takes 20 seconds to do the job!*“
Softsoap and the American Public Health Association (APHA) have teamed up to create unique ?Get Ready? hand washing timers. These timers are set up to attach right to Softsoap brand soap pumps.
When kids press the pump to get some soap out, a tune starts to play. That tune continues for a full 20 seconds, letting kids know to keep washing. Once the timer runs out, their hands should be germ free. Of course, that is if they are actually washing properly. You just never know with boys!
The timer is actually quite simple to install. It easily fits right over the pump and is removable, so you don’t have to discard it when your bottle is out.
Lil Man seems to wash his hands all the time now. I think he likes the little tune it plays and I’m sure the Spongebob bottle helps! I’m not complaining though. As long as their grubby little hands aren’t so grubby anymore, I’m a happy girl!
I’ve actually used this soap myself too since it is in the bathroom. I actually like it because I know that I have washed my hands long enough. really, who wants to sit there and count out 20 seconds? Not I? I think I’m goign to put these throughout the house at all the sinks.
Here are some hand washing tips for your kids.
